Lake Murray Fishing

Many visitors come to Lake Murry for its excellent fishing. The fishing here is so good that several fishing tournaments are held here each year. Each spring, the lake is stocked with approximately a million fingerlings, which helps maintain its excellent reputation. Here you can catch largemouth bass, striped bass, white bass, crappie, white perch, bream, catfish, bluegill and redear sunfish. Lake Murry has 500 miles of shoreline and includes 24 fish attractor locations that are maintained by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. There are numerous spots where you can access the lake, as well as several fishing piers. Just note that anyone who is age 16 or older is required to have a fishing license.
